Doutta GallaNews – Masks Removed from May 20

Masks Removed from May 20

July 11, 2024

Doutta Galla wishes to advise that from Monday, 20 May 2024, face masks and Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) will no longer be mandatory for visitors to our Doutta Galla Homes.

This policy may change if there are any infectious outbreaks or updates to government or public health directives. Visitors and contractors are still required to complete their attestations, via our electronic access system in reception, before entering.

We ask visitors to maintain sound respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene, and do not visit if you are unwell.

While this change mirrors similar steps taken by other Aged Care providers in Victoria and goes some way towards “normalising” COVID-19, your vigilance is crucial in keeping our residents safe.

We encourage everyone to stay up-to-date with vaccinations to protect our vulnerable community members.

Currently, we are facing three major respiratory illnesses and gastroenteritis as we approach influenza season.

Wearing masks and undertaking RATs is a matter of individual choice, so Doutta Galla will continue to provide these for visitors, staff and contractors should they choose to use them.

Take care and stay healthy.

Kind regards
Claire Schmierer
